Additional Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Information

Seven years prior to the events of FINAL FANTASY VII — The Shinra Company is rapidly increasing its influence through its monopoly on mako energy and military might. With the burgeoning city of Midgar as its base and symbol of prosperity, Shinra is on the verge of establishing absolute dominance over the world. SOLDIER is a group of skilled combat operatives within Shinra. The elite within the group — those strong enough to be deemed SOLDIER 1st Class — are respected and idolized by the citizenry. Zack is a young SOLDIER 2nd Class who aspires to become a 1st. He spends his days carrying out assignments under the guidance of his 1st Class mentor, Angeal. During an operation in Wutai, a large number of SOLDIER members, led by 1st Class operative Genesis, go missing. The severity of the situation prompts Shinra executives to deploy even more SOLDIER operatives in hopes of bringing an end to the war with Wutai—and conducting an investigation into the mass desertion. The ones assigned to the mission are Zack, Angeal, and the 1st Class hero who is known the world over as Sephiroth... What truths lie behind Genesis's disappearance? What secrets bind the three SOLDIER 1st Class operatives? For Zack, a cruel and fateful struggle awaits...

What Customers Say About Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII:

I can't tell you how great it is to hear the FF music come out of your PSP and see the high quality video of such epic favorites as cloud and barrett. The battle system is very fun and unique though so I would not let that deter you from picking this up. IMO this may be the best game on the PSP right now. Crisis Core has come at a time when good RPGs just are not here yet. This game has a unique and interesting story involving all the best characters from FFVII but do keep in mind it is an action RPG with real time battles.

For all the character building they accomplish it's really too bad you never get to team up. You go to a dungeon, fight random encounters, defeat a boss, watch a cut scene, go back to a central location, train for a while, go to the next dungeon, repeat. This makes the combat a bit 1 dimensional. I should also mention that the cinematography and voice acting is good.Overall I see this as an average game in a sea of average adventure games for the PSP, the exception being God of War. The plot might be great but the way it is executed turns this into a scripted, point to point dungeon crawler. I've been a big fan of the final fantasy series going back to the original NES and SNES games so I have high expectations for the final fantasy series.

It has the same type of random encounter / turn based (timed really) combat system but there is only 1 player you control. There was no sense of adventure, and that's really where it failed. It adds a lot of intriguing pretext for Final Fantasy VII (PS1), the main character is cool, I like the look and feel of environment and especially some of the allies and adversaries. I think this is a poor offering. There isn't any world to explore or any options in executing the plot. They've met the demand for a PSP Final Fantasy title by churning something out which, in my opinion is uninspired and does not improve the fortunes of this generally ailing franchise. Overall I'd say it's an average game, but as a Final Fantasy game it fails to live up to the standard of other FF products. For starters this is not a team based cooperative play system.

While you can improve and customize your character you don't get the extra dimensions of game play you can achieve by equipping and positioning team members for certain roles.

Well worth the price. This is easily the best game you will find for the PSP. Totally awesome with lots of game time (tons of side quests).

If you have a PSP this is definitely worth buying. great prequel to Final Fantasy 7 on the playstation one. Lots of unique features to the game.

now, i'm playing the second round, it is still fun. OH. I brought this game, and I really enjoy it.
